Baked in Brooklyn came to us with just one request: to create branding and packaging for a new line of pita chips and flatbread crisps. We started out by touring the awesome Baked in Brooklyn bakery and reviewing the packaging of every brand of chip we could get our hands on. Then, fortified with snacks, we got to work on developing a look and feel inspired by Brooklyn’s industrial past.

Sebastian Professional, a well-known hair product line based in Los Angeles, recently launched a new line of original stylist-driven looks. Meant to showcase the diverse results available with their products, the new looks, or “cocktails”, represent a variety of different moods, personas, and attitudes. The site offers complete steps for stylists to try the cocktails out on their own, and gives a behind the scenes look at how each model was transformed into a different person with each hairstyle.
Union Market expanded their line of private-label products to include several new varieties of coffee. Most of the flavors – available in decaf, whole bean or ground – reflect the different neighborhood subcultures found around Union Market's home turf in Brooklyn. We must say our personal favorite is the “Williamsburg Blend,” which sports a Hasid and a hipster side by side. We knew it might ruffle a few tzitzit. God's Love We Deliver is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of men, women and children living with life-altering illnesses. As one of its many educational initiatives, GLWD publishes a series of informative guides to good nutrition. We were hired to design the latest guide, a booklet tailored to the needs of those living with HIV and AIDS.
John Ullmann, a New York-based estate jeweler, has one of the world’s finest collections of Art Deco jewelry. Members of the jewelry trade can now view his collection online—or even offline, if they’re using an iPhone—24 hours a day, from anywhere in the world. We developed a CMS-based website which allows Mr. Ullmann to easily update his inventory and showcase it to fellow dealers.
Building Studio wanted the world to know that it’s in the architecture business. So the principals came up with a simple but effective solution: add the word "architects" to the firm’s name. That’s a good start, but to deliver the message even more powerfully, Building Studio Architects knew where to turn for help. After working with BSA for over a decade, we’re very familiar with the brand’s core identity. We created a new logo, updated the firm’s stationery, and developed a dynamic new website.

We deal with a lot of jewelry clients, each with a unique product and point of view. It’s exciting to express that point of view for every client. However, we were especially thrilled when we were approached by Nicholas Varney to design his website. His larger-than-life personality is something that translates into his jewelry, and even that might be putting it lightly.
Michael Bierut starts the book by saying that he is a designer and not a writer. Yet each short essay, about two pages on average, is so well-written that it doesn’t feel like writing at all; rather a conversation that you are having with your college design professor. This may have something to do with the fact that most of the essays are taken from a blog, a medium that is popularized by the casual way it communicates with its audience. Sixty-eight of the 79 articles are from the Design Observer blog. It’s one of the leading blogs on design as well as one of the best designed I have read.
